Stage 1: CBT 1 – Preliminary Screening (RRB ALP Syllabus 2025)

Stage 2: CBT 2

Divided into two parts:

Part A:

Part B:

• Duration: 60 minutes
• Total Questions: 75
• Subject: Relevant Trade (as per the candidate’s ITI qualification)
• Qualifying Marks: 35% (mandatory for all candidates)

• Basic Science & Engineering: Engineering Drawing (Projections, Views, Drawing Instruments, Lines, Geometric Figures, Symbolic Representation), Units & Measurements, Mass, Weight & Density, Work, Power & Energy, Speed & Velocity, Heat & Temperature, Basic Electricity, Levers & Simple Machines, Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Education, IT Literacy.
• Trade Subjects: Specific to the trade chosen by the candidate, such as Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Automobile Engineering, etc. Topics include fundamental concepts and practical applications relevant to the trade.

Stage 3: CBAT – Aptitude Evaluation

• Applicable For: Candidates opting for the ALP post.
• Test Batteries: Multiple, assessing different cognitive abilities.
• Qualifying Criteria: Minimum score of 42 marks in each test battery (no relaxation for any category).
• Note: No negative marking in CBAT.
